This past June, the Decanter World Wine Awards (DWWA) 2025 were held – one of the most prestigious and influential wine competitions in the world. Our Rhodes 2021 wine was awarded a silver medal with a score of 94 points, placing it among the highest-rated wine from Empordà in this edition. In fact, only one other red wine from the DO received the same score.
Organised by the British magazine Decanter, these awards recognise winemaking excellence on an international level through a blind tasting conducted by a jury of experts, sommeliers and Masters of Wine.
Rhodes 2021 is an organic wine made from red Carignan, Grenache and Syrah, sourced from vineyards planted on slated soils. It is aged for 12 months in French oak barrels. It stands out for its intense aroma of ripe red fruit, with notes of spices and chocolate. On the palate, it is powerful, fresh, complex, mineral, and offers balsamic hints – an authentic expression of l’Empordà terroir.
