On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Spanish Civil War, at 11am on Sunday 10th February 2019 we will be holding a round table at the winery to talk about the last aerial engagement in Catalonia, which took place at the Garriguella-Vilajuïga aerodrome on 6th February 1939.

The event, organised by the winery and Garriguella town hall and coordinated by the historian David Garcia Algilaga, sets out to highlight the area’s historical heritage and recall what took place in that last dogfight involving Josep Falcó and the Messerschmitts of the Condor Legion.

Chaired by the writer and professor of literature J.M. Soldevila, the round table will be shared by R. Plà, an air force colonel and aviation scholar, co-author of a book on Republican aerodromes in the Girona region during the Civil War; J.A. Chicharro, a veteran pilot and owner of several working historic aircraft; J. Playà, a journalist from Garriguella and author of articles about J. Falcó; J. Soler, also from Garriguella and the author of an article about the aerodrome; D.  Gesalí, historian and specialist in aviation and the Civil War, editor of the above book on Republic aerodromes; and D. Íñiguez, also a historian and specialist in aviation and the Civil War.

The event will end with an aperitif for all those present.
