The name, which literally translates as ‘old vines’, aims to express what these Mas Llunes wines are looking to achieve: a range of singular wines, that are unique each year round; always coming from local varieties and very old vines, produced in very small batches.

The wall of the label transmits the idea of the singularity of each of the stones of which it is comprised, and which represent each of the wines.

Wine-making

The grape was carefully hand selected during the harvest to achieve an optimal and consistent degree of maturity.

The grape juice was macerated with grape skins for three hours at 10°C, and was then naturally drained and fermented in a stainless steel deposit at 17°C.

The 75% of the wine aged in a concrete egg during 5 months and the resting 25% finished the fermentation in a French oak barrel where aged during 5 months. It was filtered and stabilized at -3º before being bottled.

Blend

White Carignan 100%, sourced from a selection of strains of this variety, coming from a vine that is over 70 years old. This vine is located in Fontanilles, and is planted in slate soils.

Tasting-note

Shiny gold in colour. Complex aroma with notes of mature citric leather, lemon, orange, and Mediterranean underwood herbs. On the palate it is delicate, smooth, fresh, harmonious, elegant, subtle and mineral.
